The SERENE Mat’s unique, finely tuned design creates a serene foundation for your records, revealing hidden musical layers. Backed by measurements, it manages vibrations across all frequencies, enhancing clarity and depth for a richer, more immersive sound.

A Mat like no other

The SERENE Mat consists of finely tuned sprung pads, each with a raised nib that centres the record’s weight onto the springs. This focused weight activates the springs, allowing them to absorb micro vibrations that conventional mats can’t address.

Setting the Standard

Backed by Measurements
The white line shows the maximum potential vibration without the mat (the vibration envelope), while the blue area shows vibrations absorbed by the mat at each frequency. Why is the white line flat? Although real vibrations vary by setup, the envelope provides a simplified worst-case scenario to show the mat’s effectiveness.
Traditional turntable mats, made from the likes of felt, rubber, cork, or silicone, come with inherent limitations. Their large horizontal surface area and minimal thickness prevent them from flexing under the lightweight record, leaving them dependent solely on basic damping. This restricts their ability to manage vibrations across the full frequency spectrum, often leading to unwanted resonance that can muddy the sound.

The Stack Audio SERENE Mat redefines this approach by combining damping with finely tuned, spring-like pads that introduce flex in critical areas. This targeted flexibility allows the mat to absorb a broad range of vibrations, minimizing resonance across all frequencies.

Do I have to adjust the VTA on my tonearm to accomodate for the mat?

If you do not have a 3mm mat already, you will have to adjust the VTA on your tonearm, it is worth checking in advance if the height of your tonearm can be adjusted.

What is the maximum weight I can put on top of the record mat?

The Mat has been modelled to accommodate for up to 500g in weight, we would not recommend exceeding this as it could alter the performance and negatively impact the mat.

Is the Mat compatible with my LP12?

Yes, during the development of all TT products, we test extensively with our own LP12.

What weight is the Mat itself?

The Mat weighs in at 180g.

Will the mat work with warped records?

Part of the design process was making sure that the springs will still activate with warped records. There is a limit to how warped the record can be as all nibs need to be in contact for activation.

Does the Mat have a settling in time?

Technically, settling in time is unlikely. However, it could be argued the the springs may loosen up a little over time, thus further enhancing performance.

My turntable comes with a screw on clamp, will the Mat work with this?

The Mat will not be compatible with a screw on clamp due to the amount of pressure pressing down on the Mat nibs. Any other clamp (including the SERENE Stabiliser) will be compatible.

Are there any stockists of the Mat near me?

The Mat is currently being sold directly to consumer only.

How does your 60-day moneyback guarantee work?

You have 60 days to audition the products from the day they arrive. During this period, you can evaluate the product and decide whether to keep it or return it. We will provide a pre-paid returns label.
